PM Oli calls emergency Cabinet meeting

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli has called an emergency cabinet meeting scheduled for 5 pm on Wednesday.

According to a minister, the meeting has been called to address the rescue and relief efforts following the Saurya Airlines plane crash earlier today at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.

Prime Minister Oli is expected to provide a detailed briefing on the accident and the ongoing investigation during the meeting.

Immediately after the incident occurred this morning, Prime Minister Oli, along with Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Pandey, and other officials, visited the airport for an inspection.

Following the inspection, Prime Minister Oli received an update from the rescue coordination center of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
