Bagmati Province CM Bahadur Singh Lama sworn in



HETAUDA: Bahadur Singh Lama has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bagmati Province today.

The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma.

Chief Minister Lama wasted no time in forming his cabinet, announcing a 10-member team on the same day.

According to Govinda Prasad Poudel, Spokesperson at the Province Chief’s Secretariat, CM Lama also administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers.

From CPN-UML, Prakash Shrestha has been appointed Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development; Kishor Silwal as Minister for Forests and Environment; Kiran Thapa as Minister for Health and Population; and Aman Maskey as Minister for Physical Planning and Infrastructure.

Similarly, Sukmaya Tamang is now Minister for Industry, Commerce, Land, and Administration; and Prem Bhakta Maharjan has been appointed Minister of Labour, Employment, and Transportation.

Representing Nepali Congress, Kundanraj Kafle, Shyam Khadka, and Madhu Shrestha have been appointed as ministers without portfolio.

CM Lama, who was elected from Nuwakot constituency no. 2 (A), had secured support from 64 members of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly on Tuesday.
