13-member cabinet to be formed

KATHMANDU: Bahadur Singh Lama, the newly appointed Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, will be sworn in today at 11:11 am.

The oath ceremony will be administered by Provincial Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma at the Office of the Provincial Chief in Hetauda.

Lama’s appointment as Chief Minister was made official on Tuesday under Article 168(2) of the Constitution.

He secured the support of 64 MPs, including 37 from Nepali Congress and 27 from CPN-UML, marking a significant political shift in the province.

Previously, Shalikram Jamkattel of the Maoist Center party served as Chief Minister under the UML-Maoist alliance but resigned on Sunday following UML’s withdrawal of support.

Alongside Lama, 13 ministers will also be sworn in today, according to the Office of the Provincial Chief.
