NC lawmaker Gurung’s suspension lifted



KATHMANDU: The Federal Parliament Secretariat lifted the suspension of Nepali Congress lawmaker Tek Bahadur Gurung on Wednesday.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, the Secretariat informed that lawmaker Gurung’s suspension has been lifted in accordance with the Supreme Court’s order.

A division bench of justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Binod Sharma directed the reinstatement of Gurung’s membership in the House of Representatives on March 29.

Gurung, who was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Manang, was suspended on December 27, 2022.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a corruption case against Gurung on February 4, 2019.
