Armed robbery in Dhanusha: Rs 960,000 looted from Chitra Oil Stores



JANAKPURDHAM: In a daring daylight robbery, a group of armed robbers looted Rs 960,000 from Chitra Oil Stores situated in Mithila-9, Lalgadh, Dhanusha, on Wednesday.

According to Laxman Pradhan, the president of the Petroleum Dealers National Association, the criminals, wielding guns, intercepted Dhruba Basnet, a petroleum dealer, on the bustling East-West Highway, around 11 am.

“The assailants surrounded Basnet during his journey, forcefully robbing the money at gunpoint as he headed to the bank on his motorcycle,” Pradhan explained.

He added that the incident has been promptly reported to the police, urging swift legal action against the perpetrators and emphasizing the critical need to recover the stolen amount.
