Knee surgery performed on 34 patients



KATHMANDU: The Jorpati-based Nepal Orthopedic Hospital has performed knee surgery on 34 patients.

A team of specialist doctors supported by the Operation Walk Chicago in the United States (US) performed surgeries on 43 knees of 34 patients in five days.

Senior administrative officer of the hospital, Dhiraj Mainali said that the surgery was carried out on the patients who had long been suffering from knee pain.

Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Kailash Kumar Bhandari said the hospital was providing more easy and accessible services to the citizens.

Orthopedic surgeon Dr Rabi Basyal, who came from the US, said that the hospital has been collaborating with the orthopedic hospital since 2009 and so far about 600 knee surgeries have been performed.

Established in 1998 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the health care of orphans, helpless, and disabled citizens, the hospital has been providing services to orthopedic patients.
