Speaker Ghimire arrives in Cambodia



PHNOM PENH: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has arrived in Cambodia, leading a five-member delegation to participate in the 11th meeting of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP).

Upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, he was welcomed by high-ranking officials of the Cambodian parliament, as reported by his press expert, Shekhar Adhikari.

Speaker Ghimire departed for Cambodia’s capital on Friday night, leading a Nepali delegation to attend the program scheduled from November 23 to 26.

The delegation includes House of Representatives member Ishwor Bahadur Rijal, Chief Personal Secretary Tej Prakash Bhattarai, and Deputy Secretary Gopal Sigdel of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.

House of Representatives member Eknath Dhakal, who is already in Cambodia, is also set to participate in the meeting.

Under the main theme “Peace, Reconciliation, and Tolerance,” the IPTP will address issues related to strengthening multilateralism and fostering coordination and inclusive relationships among government, parliament, and civil society in building frameworks for peace, reconciliation, and tolerance.

During the meeting, Speaker Ghimire will deliver an address on behalf of the Parliament of Nepal.

Additionally, he is scheduled to meet with delegations from Cambodia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Malaysia, Vietnam, and Laos during his visit.
