Nepal and Bhutan PMs discuss to strengthen trade and cultural ties



NEW YORK: Prime Ministers KP Sharma Oli of Nepal and Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan discussed the expansion of people-to-people and trade relations between their countries.

Currently attending the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, PM Oli led a Nepali delegation during the meeting held at Nepal’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations on Sunday.

According to Bishnu Prasad Rimal, PM Oli’s chief political advisor who attended the meeting, the discussions focused on advancing collaborations in both bilateral and multilateral forums.

During the meeting, PM Tobgay emphasized Bhutan’s strong relations with Nepal, highlighting the significance of Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, and Nepal’s role as Chair of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

He expressed gratitude for the goodwill Nepal has shown towards Bhutan.

PM Oli pledged to facilitate the development of people-to-people and trade relations between the two nations.
