Ambukhaireni Bus Accident: 12 injured airlifted to Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: A passenger bus plunged into the Marsyangdi River near Ainapahara in Ambukhaireni, Tanahu, on Friday, resulting in the deaths of 14 people and injuries to 17 others.

The bus, bearing an Indian number plate (UP 53 FT 7623), was carrying 41 passengers, along with the driver and co-driver.

Twelve of the injured have been airlifted by a Nepal Army MI16 helicopter to Kathmandu for treatment.

They will receive care at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing for the remaining missing passengers.
