Rs 5,000 Bribery Case: Home Minister commands thorough investigation



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has directed the police to initiate an investigation into the case involving former Minister and lawmaker Birendra Mahatto, who allegedly bribed a middleman Rs 5,000 to authenticate his son’s certificate.

Responding to queries raised by lawmakers in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Tuesday, Home Minister Lekhak stated that he had personally spoken with Mahatto and sought his cooperation in the investigation.

He further emphasized that the case has garnered serious attention from the government.
