KATHMANDU: Kathmandu, Nepal’s federal capital, is abuzz with preparations to receive the esteemed guest, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, on Tuesday.
Upon the invitation of President Ram Chandra Poudel, the Emir of Qatar will embark on a two-day State Visit to Nepal.
The Emir’s delegation, comprising 80 members including 10 incumbent ministers, signifies the significance of this diplomatic engagement.
The city’s main thoroughfares and intersections are adorned with vibrant flags and banners in anticipation of the Emir’s arrival.
Notable areas such as Tribhuvan International Airport, Tinkune, New Baneshwor, Babarmahal, Maitighar, Tripureshwor, Kalimati, Jamal, Lainchaur, and Triphureshwor have been meticulously decorated and prioritized for sanitation ahead of the visit.
Scheduled to touch down at TIA at 4 PM this afternoon, the Emir’s visit marks a historic milestone as the first high-level visit to Nepal from the Gulf nation.
Amidst the festive atmosphere, stringent security measures have been put in place across the valley to ensure the smooth conduct of the visit.
In recognition of the significance of this occasion, the government has declared a public holiday nationwide.
