TRC Bill to be presented in Parliament soon: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN-Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, announced that the bill related to transitional justice will soon be presented in Parliament.

Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Friday, the Prime Minister stated that the bill, which has been approved by the sub-committee, will be introduced in Parliament within the next five days.

He expressed confidence that once the bill is passed, it will make the relatives of the martyrs of the Maoist movement proud of their sacrifice.

Prime Minister Dahal mentioned that the delayed work with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) has adversely affected the fulfillment or support from the state towards the families of martyrs.

He also highlighted that there will be a public celebration again after the completion of the Peace Process on Martyrs’ Memorial Day.
