Newly appointed VC vows to enforce academic calendar in TU



KATHMANDU: The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University (TU), Prof Dr. Keshar Jung Baral, has affirmed that his primary focus will be on formulating an academic calendar and ensuring its complete implementation.

Speaking to Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) on Thursday evening following his appointment, the new VC Baral reiterated, “The current need is to create an annual academic calendar and fully implement it. It is my top priority.”

Acknowledging that TU is the largest structured organization with numerous tasks related to reforms, Baral committed to ensuring timely exams and result publication.

“In addition to this, updating TU’s syllabus is also a priority,” he added.

Baral’s appointment to the position was made by Prime Minister and University Chancellor Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, he received his appointment letter on the same day and is scheduled to assume office in Kirtipur.
