Man arrested for abuse through social media



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a person on the charge of character assassination of a woman through the social media.

Kiran Thapa, 27 of Shivapuri rural municipality-4 in Nuwakot was arrested following a complaint filed against him by the victim.

The accused reportedly sent intimate photos and videos taken while he was in a good relationship with the woman to the woman’s family members through Facebook messenger after the relationship with him broke down.

The accused was arrested from Gongbu in Kathmandu following an investigation into the complaint conducted by the Cyber Bureau team of Nepal Police, according to the Nepal Police central news room.
