Minister for Culture stresses on uniformity in Academies under Ministry



KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has laid emphasis on uniformity in activities of academies under the ministry.

Receiving the annual report of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts at the Ministry today, he stressed that it was indispensable to manage the affairs of the academies in such a way to maintain uniformity among them as some academies lack laws while some lacked own buildings.

He underlined that academies in the centre should play leadership role to maintain uniformity in activities of the academies established in the municipality, province and federation level.

On the occasion, Chancellor of the Academy, Narad Mani Hartamchhali, said fine arts were exhibited in all seven provinces in last fiscal year.

Academic assembly was organized in Gandaki, Sudurpaschim and Madhes provinces as well as activities are underway to develop Dang as ‘Ceramics Hub’, he mentioned.

He drew attention of Tourism Minister on the issues of lack of budget and permanent staffs in the Academy.
