Nobel Laureate Johnson lauds ‘Ink and Insights’

KATHMANDU: In 2024, the Nobel Prize in Economics was awarded to three distinguished economists: Deron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson, and James Robinson.

Their groundbreaking research on the development of institutions and their impact on prosperity and economic progress earned them this prestigious honor.

Among them, Simon Johnson made a notable appearance on the program “Ink and Insights with Sumit Sharma Sameer,” hosted by Sumit Sharma Sameer.

This marked a significant moment, as Johnson had largely been featured in European and American media following the announcement of his Nobel Prize.

Sharma’s program stands out as the only show from Nepal that consistently invites renowned global personalities.

In addition to Johnson, Sumit has previously welcomed a range of eminent figures, including Nobel Prize winner Sir Richard J. Roberts, World Food Prize winner Rattan Lal, Pulitzer Prize winner Kai Byrd, celebrated environmental scientist and Champion of the Earth honoree Catherine Hayhoe, and Dr. Maria Niera, the Global Director of the World Health Organization.
