Westerly and local winds bring mixed weather across Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has reported that both westerly winds and local winds are currently affecting the country.

According to the Division, light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is occurring in a few locations within the Madhesh, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces.

The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy to mostly clear in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces today.

The rest of the region will also experience partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in several areas of the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in select locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Additionally, light snowfall is possible in one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions of the country.

Tonight, the weather is expected to be mostly clear in the hilly areas, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies.

There is a chance of light rain in one or two locations within the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
