NGOs should run in transparent manner, Minister Sudi says



LALITPUR: Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Nawal Kishor Sah Sudi has said that the activities of social organizations should be clear and transparent.

At a programme organized here by the Social Welfare Council on the occasion of 45th Social Service Day today, Minister Sudi argued that social organizations should be effective and transparent since they are held accountable to society.

He also asked the social organizations to work for promoting social values and dignity and to uplift the backward communities.

Likewise, Minister Sudi urged the monitoring and evaluation tasks of the SWC more scientific and effective.

Also, he said that the government would work to revise and amend the Social Welfare Act.

Also speaking at the event, SWC Vice-Chairperson Nandalal Majhi said government, NGOs and INGOs should work collaboratively.

Similarly, Member Secretary of SWC Manoj Bhatta said 44 projects were signed with the INGOs in the year 2080/081 BS and progress of Rs 21.58 billion was achieved.
