DHULIKHEL: Police have confiscated 26 boxes of firecrackers from Kavrevanjyang in ward no. 9 of Dhulikhel Municipality.

The seizure occurred during a routine check last evening when a truck (Na. 5 Kha. 7179) traveling along the BP Highway from Siraha to Kathmandu was intercepted.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Shrestha of the District Police Office, the truck was loaded with various types of firecrackers, presumably intended for the upcoming festivals.

The driver, however, managed to escape, leaving the truck behind.

Police are currently conducting further investigations into the incident.
