IN PICS: Rato Machhindranath’s coconut-throwing ceremony



KATHMANDU: The coconut-throwing ceremony of the Rato Machhindranath Jatra took place on Wednesday.

The chariot bearing Rato Machhindranath was pulled from Pulchowk of Lalitpur to Lagankhel, where the coconut was thrown from the zenith of the chariot.

The coconut thrown from the chariot holds significant religious reverence, drawing devotees who eagerly collect it.
