NC President Deuba urges dialogue to strengthen democratic republic

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba emphasized the importance of dialogue, consensus, and collaboration to uphold and advance the current democratic republic system.

Speaking at an event held in Godavari, Lalitpur, today to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the establishment of the Communist Party of Nepal, Deuba stated, “As the CPN celebrates 75 years since its founding, I extend my congratulations to all. It is imperative to foster minimum consensus and collaboration in the political arena to fortify democracy and the republic, safeguard citizens’ rights, and establish enduring peace and good governance in the nation.”

The NC’s parliamentary leader, Deuba, urged the government to take the opposition’s concerns in parliament seriously.

Additionally, he raised questions about the unresolved circumstances surrounding the ‘murder’ of veteran Communist leader Madan Bhandari.
