KATHMANDU: The 10 ropanis of public land, previously registered under Bansbari Shoes Company and encroached upon by various parties including CG Chandbagh Residency, is set to be reclaimed under government ownership.
During a press conference organized by the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation on Friday, Chief Land Revenue Officer of the Land Reform and Land Revenue Office, based in Dilli Bazaar, Chhabiram Nepali, informed about the decision to transfer the encroached 10 ropanis of land to government ownership.
After an investigation into the land registered under the name of Chandbag Residency, it was concluded to revert it to government ownership, Nepali stated, emphasizing that the decision aligns with the provisions of the Land Revenue Act.
He further revealed that based on the 2021 field book, the aforementioned land was found to be registered under the Bansbari Shoes Company.
Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, Balaram Adhikari, affirmed that government lands registered under individuals’ or organizations’ names will gradually be reclaimed by the state.
He urged employees to carry out their duties fearlessly in the interest of the public and the state.
The case of land encroachment by Bansbari Shoes Company is currently under investigation by the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police.
