CPN (US) to decide on Minister Jwala’s fate only upon public release of investigation report

KATHMANDU: The CPN (Unified Socialist) has announced that it will make a decision regarding Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala, only after the investigation report on the Balkumari incident is made public.

During a secretariat meeting held on Thursday, the party concluded that the investigation report, currently in the hands of the Prime Minister, has not yet been released to the public.

Therefore, the party will wait for the report’s public release before deciding on Minister Jwala’s fate, according to Jagannath Kathiwada, the party’s spokesperson.

Kathiwada emphasized that the incident was associated with the Labor Ministry, and it was the Home Minister who ordered the firing of bullets.

He added, “Therefore, we are uncertain on what grounds Minister Jwala is being held accountable for the incident.”

It is important to note that two youths lost their lives in a clash between protesting EPS Korean language students and security personnel at Balkumari.

On that day, Minister Jwala’s vehicle was set ablaze by the protesting students as he used the same road where the protest was taking place.
