KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has intensified its stance by demanding the resignation of three ministers during today’s House of Representatives meeting.

Addressing a meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, CPN-UML lawmaker Raghuji Pant called for the resignation of Health Minister Mohan Basnet, Physical Infrastructure Minister Prakash Jwala, and Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kiranti.

Pant highlighted specific reasons for each minister’s resignation, citing Minister Jwala’s involvement in the Balkumari incident, Health Minister Basnet’s statements to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, and Minister Kiranti’s alleged misconduct in the Ramgram area of Lumbini.

He argued that these ministers should step down based on moral grounds, protesting against the controversial activities.

Furthermore, lawmaker Pant criticized the Prime Minister’s stance on good governance, pointing out discrepancies in the appointment of Larkyal Lama, endorsed by the Minister of Tourism, for work in Ramgram, which has been flagged by government media and the Public Accounts Committee for violating regulations.

Pant emphasized the moral imperative to remove Minister Kirati and Larkyal Lama, calling attention to the prime minister’s participation in the inauguration of the program despite alleged improprieties.
