Police nab fake doctor from Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: A man has been apprehended on charges of engaging in medical practices using counterfeit certificates.

Police arrested 40-year-old Samridha Bhattacharya, a resident of Biratnagar-2.

According to Inspector, a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Division detained him on Monday from Basundhara.

Kathmandu Valley Crime Division SP Rabindra Regmi reported that Bhattacharya was arrested for presenting forged certificates from the Nepal Medical Council.

Moreover, he was found to be involved in generating fraudulent medical reports for individuals intending to go abroad.

SP Regmi disclosed that Bhattacharya had been employed at Dhaulagiri Polyclinic in Basundhara and We Care in Naxal.

“He was apprehended while working at the Polyclinic in Basundhara,” stated Regmi.

Bhattacharya had also falsely identified himself as a doctor at TU Teaching Hospital.

“He claims to have completed his MBBS studies in China,” added Regmi.
