PM Oli and India PM Modi to hold talks in New York
Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are set to meet in New York, United States, on Sunday, September 22, at 5:30 PM local time.
Nepal proposed this meeting time last week, although the Indian side had not initially confirmed Modi’s attendance.
A source from Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the timing was determined in consultation with India.
Conspiracy being hatched to weaken opp’n parties in Parliament: Prachanda
Chairman of Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, has claimed that various conspiracies are underway to undermine the opposition in Parliament.
Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Saturday, Prachanda emphasized that these conspiracies aim to diminish the opposition’s strength within Parliament.
He acknowledged that fluctuations in parliamentary numbers are natural following elections but argued that the Maoists remain a formidable force in terms of political ideology and agenda.
Road Department asked to complete road repair before Ghatasthapana
The Department of Road has been asked to complete the maintenance of roads before Ghatasthapana so that people’s travel to their destinations would be convenient during the festivals.
A meeting of transport entrepreneurs with government representatives held today at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructures and Transport issued such directive, said senior vice-president of the Federation of Nepali National Transport Entrepreneurs, Punya Prasad Sitaula.
Federal secular republic has failed: Kamal Thapa
Chairperson of the Rastriya Pajatrantra Party Nepal (RPP Nepal), Kamal Thapa, has claimed that the federal secular republic has failed.
Addressing the large gathering of RPP Nepal Valley workers held in Kathmandu on Friday, he said that parties and leaders who prefer to call themselves big should give up their stubbornness and change their course immediately.
Thapa also accused that efforts are being made to quietly cover up the cooperative scandal because senior leaders from the Congress and UML are involved.
He stated that while there was a lot of noise when Rabi Lamichhane’s name surfaced in the cooperative scandal, attempts were made to hide the issue as soon as the involvement of Congress and UML leaders became evident.
Pacific Angel Exercise between Nepali Army and U.S. Army concludes
The Pacific Angel 24-2 Exercise has concluded, featuring collaboration between the Nepali Army and U.S. Pacific Air Forces.
This initiative aimed to enhance humanitarian assistance and disaster response capabilities through military, civilian, and non-governmental organization cooperation, while also improving search and rescue operations between the United States and Nepal.
