President offered with ‘Mahaprasad’ of Dolakha Bhimeshwar deity

KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel has been presented with the mahaprasad brought from the Dolakha Bhimeshwar Temple.

A team comprising of the office-bearers and the priests of the Dolakha Bhimeshwar Temple Trust and Management Committee today presented the mahaprasad to the Head of State at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas.

There is the tradition of presenting to the Head of State the cotton swab with which the water droplets that appear on the surface of the statue of the Bhimeshwar deity at the Bhimeshwar Temple are wiped as the mahaprasad.

Atonement worship is performed as per the tradition at the Temple, seeking forgiveness from the deity, after handing over the mahaprasad to the Head of State.

It is said that the left side of the statue of the Bhimsen deity ‘perspired’ on Saturday.
