Ward Chairman’s roadside office protests KMC’s New Road footpath expansion (With photos)

KATHMANDU: Chairman Chinikaji Maharjan of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Ward-22 has set up an office under a tarpaulin on New Road to protest the KMC’s footpath expansion campaign.

The ward will continue to conduct its daily administrative work from the road until the decision to expand the footpath is reversed.

The KMC began expanding the footpath in the New Road area last Wednesday, following approval from the Patan High Court.

Earlier, Maharjan and local residents obstructed the construction activities, leading to a deployment of security personnel by the KMC in response.
