Kailash Sirohiya to be taken to Dhanusha following arrest

KATHMANDU: Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group, has been arrested by police at the Thapathali office of Kantipur Media Group (KMG).

Earlier, the Dhanusha District Court granted permission to the district police to issue an arrest warrant against Chairman Sirohiya on a dual citizenship issue.

A team from the Valley Crime Investigation Office, led by SSP Sanuram Bhattarai and SP Rabindra Regmi, arrested Sirohiya on Tuesday afternoon.

The arrest warrant was issued following allegations of fraudulent citizenship submissions to multiple institutions.

It has been reported that two citizenship documents bearing the same number but with different details have surfaced, raising suspicions of identity fraud.

A complaint lodged at the Dhanusha District Police Office implicated Sirohiya in acquiring citizenship through deceptive means.

Senior advocate Shambhu Thapa was present during Sirohiya’s arrest.

According to Thapa, advocate Kishor Poudel and other legal advisors will accompany Sirohiya to Dhanusha for further investigation.
