There has been abuse of power and authority; will cooperate in investigation: Kailash Sirohiya

KATHMANDU: Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group, has expressed readiness to cooperate in investigations conducted in accordance with the law as a responsible citizen.

After the District Court of Dhanusha issued an arrest warrant on Tuesday, Sirohiya released a statement expressing his willingness to cooperate in investigations conducted in accordance with the law.

Sirohiya mentioned that he will not be shaken by any revenge or action taken due to the misuse of state power, but assured full cooperation in every investigation conducted in accordance with the law.

“In every investigation conducted in accordance with the law, I am ready to cooperate as a responsible citizen,” said Sirohiya.

“However, I am not perturbed by any revenge or action taken due to the misuse of state power. Kantipur Media Group has been subjected to similar attacks in the past, including during the autocratic regime of King Gyanendra and Lokman Singh Karki,” he said.

Sirohiya also raised questions about the investigation into the recent cooperative fraud case involving Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

He stated that the media would not succumb to undue pressure and authoritarian threats.
