NC challenges govt to form probe committee against Dhanraj Gurung and Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), has challenged the government to form a parliamentary committee to investigate Dhanraj Gurung and Gagan Thapa.

Addressing the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Tuesday, NC Deputy General Secretary Badri Pandey asserted that there would be no issue if a probe committee is formed against Gurung, the Vice-President, and Thapa, the General Secretary.

This challenge comes as NC continues to demand a parliamentary committee to investigate Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in a cooperative fraud case.

Despite ongoing parliamentary obstruction by opposition parties, the government has been reluctant to form a probe committee to investigate Lamichhane.

Pandey also noted that Home Minister Lamichhane had made serious allegations against Gurung and Thapa on Sunday.

“If found guilty, the government can take action against any leaders of our party,” Pandey added.
