Government scraps National Land Commission amidst political shifts

KATHMANDU: In a significant move, the government has announced the dissolution of the National Land Commission.

The decision was made during a recent Cabinet meeting.

Established on Bhadra 30, 2078, under the Nepali Congress-led government, the National Land Commission was formed to address land-related issues, replacing the Devi Gyawali-led Land-related Problem Resolution Commission initiated by the UML-led government.

However, with evolving political alliances, the current government has opted to disband the National Land Commission and is now poised to establish a new entity to handle land-related affairs.
