Binod Chaudhary flies to Sri Lanka amid Bansbari land scam probe



KATHMANDU: Renowned industrialist and Nepali Congress lawmaker, Binod Chaudhary, has departed for Sri Lanka amidst the ongoing investigation into the Bansbari land scam.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police recorded a statement from Chaudhary regarding the Bansbari land case today.

Chaudhary voluntarily visited the public prosecutor’s office this morning and spent nearly two hours providing his statement to the CIB.

Following the statement recording, Chaudhary proceeded with his scheduled trip to Sri Lanka, as confirmed by Madhu Sudan Poudel, spokesperson of the Chaudhary Group.

The CIB had summoned Chaudhary in connection with the alleged embezzlement of 10 ropani of land belonging to the Bansbari leather shoe factory located in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3.

Earlier, businessman Arun Chaudhary, along with executive chairman Ajitnarayan Singh Thapa and Sanjay Thakur, were arrested by the CIB in connection with the same land case.
