Nepal sets target of 169 runs for Namibia in ICC CWC League 2 encounter

KATHMANDU: Nepal has laid down a challenge for Namibia by setting a target of 169 runs in their ICC CWC League 2 match.

Having won the toss earlier, Namibia opted to field first, successfully containing Nepal to 168 runs within 37.1 overs, with all wickets falling.

Aashif Sheikh emerged as Nepal’s top scorer, contributing a notable 58 runs, while Kushal Malla and Bhim Sharki provided valuable support with 36 and 26 runs respectively.

In response, Namibia’s task is clear as they require 169 runs from 50 overs to secure victory.

BM Scholtz and N Loftie Eaton stood out for Namibia with each claiming four wickets, contributing significantly to their team’s bowling efforts.

As the competition intensifies in ICC CWC League 2, the top four teams among the participating nations, including Nepal, Netherlands, Namibia, Canada, Oman, Scotland, UAE, and America, will advance to the World Cup qualifiers.

Meanwhile, the remaining four countries will strive to stake their claim for a coveted spot in the prestigious Cricket World Cup.
