One nabbed with half kg gold at TIA

KATHMANDU: The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Customs Office has apprehended an individual with half a kilogram of gold on Sunday.

The team from the office detained Khagendra Darjee, who arrived in Nepal from Doha, Qatar, with 499 grams of gold today.

According to Customs Office Chief, Dr. Tokraj Pandey, 499 grams of gold, smuggled as a liquid substance from Doha, Qatar, has been recovered.

Darjee arrived in Kathmandu on Himalaya Airlines flight H9 564.

Dr. Pandey stated that further investigation is underway to determine whether Darjee had personally brought the seized gold or if he was carrying it for someone else.
