Rain delays Nepal-B’desh clash in ACC U-19 Women’s Asia Cup

KATHMANDU: Rain has disrupted the crucial match between Nepal and Bangladesh in the ongoing ACC U-19 Women’s Asia Cup cricket tournament, currently taking place in Malaysia.

The match, scheduled for 11:45 am at the Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground, has yet to start due to persistent rain.

This match holds significant importance for both teams. A victory for Nepal would secure their spot in the top two of the Super Four stage. However, if the match is abandoned and both teams are awarded one point each, Bangladesh would advance to the top two based on a superior run rate.

In the Super Four stage, Nepal qualified as the runners-up of Group ‘B’, while Bangladesh topped Group ‘A’.

Rain also affected the first Super Four match, forcing Nepal and Sri Lanka to share points. Meanwhile, Bangladesh suffered an eight-wicket defeat against India.

The weather remains a critical factor as teams hope for a window to play and determine their fate in the tournament.
