NPL: Nepal Telecom named telecom partner for Sudurpaschim Royals



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Telecom has sponsored the Sudurpaschim Royals team competing in the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL).

An agreement to this was signed between the NTC, the state-owned telecommunication service provider, and the Sudurpaschim Royals team recently.

The NPL, a franchise cricket league, is scheduled to be played at TU Cricket Ground at Kirtipur, Kathmandu from November 30 to December 21 this year featuring eight domestic teams.

Managing Director of the NTC, Sangita Pahadee Aryal, and CEO the Sudurpaschim Royals team Prakash Khadka, signed in the MoU.

As per the MoU, the NTC will remain telecom partner for the team.

MD Aryal said that her company had been supporting and promoting sports sector in the country.

She expressed her confidence that the Nepali cricket sector would assume a new height through the sport events like NPL and it would be marked as an important milestone in the development of sports sector.

The Sudurpaschim Royals Team includes Dipendra Singh Ayri as marquee, Jagat Tamata as the chief coach is Jagat Tamat and Brad Hodge of Australia as the mentor.

Likewise, Aarif Sheikh, Abinash Bohara, Binod Bhandari, Arjun Kumal, Khadak Bohara, Ishan Pandey, Naresh Budayair, Sheikh Ali, Rohan Mustafa, Bhojraj Bhatta, Naren Saud and Amit Shrestha are also in the team.

Likewise, the team comprises international cricketers such as Scott Kuggeleijn from New Zealand and Brandon McMullen from Scotland are also playing representing the team.
