Mechi Customs Office collects Rs. 3.58 billion in three months

JHAPA: The Mechi Customs Office has successfully collected revenue of Rs. 3 billion 589 million in the first quarter of the financial year 2024/25, representing 20.69 percent of the annual target for the year.

Customs officer Ganapati Kandel reported that the office has set a revenue collection target of Rs. 17 billion 340 million for the year.

This quarter’s collection surpasses last year’s figures by Rs. 190 million; in the same period of the fiscal year 2080/81, Rs. 3 billion 390 million was collected.

Last year, the office met only 78.4 percent of its revenue collection target of Rs. 18.25 billion.

Consequently, the target for this year has been reduced by Rs. 910 million, according to the office’s statement.
