KATHMANDU: Chairperson of Unified Socialist, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said political solidarity is warranted to resist attempts being made against the system.

The ill attempts were being made by taking advantage of political instability, he warned.

He echoed the need for unity among the democratic forces to win against the ills as corruption, individualism, and bad governance.

“Anomalies have plagued communist parties, so these ills must cease,” he said.

The Chairperson viewed an amendment of the constitution capable of thwarting the nationality, integrity and the people’s sovereignty was not possible.

Similarly, the party’s respected leader and former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal said the party had adopted scientific socialism while senior Vice Chair Rajendra Pandey insisted on the need to implement socialism to address the citizens’ aspirations for development and prosperity.

Party General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal admitted that the country could not see the expected progress in the past decade, underlining the need to combat class-based discriminations and social exploitation through a communist movement.
