Judges will be appointed on time, says Law Minister

KATHMANDU: Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Padam Giri assured that the vacancies for judges in the courts will be filled promptly.

Addressing queries during the discussion on the Appropriation Bill, 2081, in the House of Representatives today, he emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing these vacancies.

“As a member of the Judicial Council, I aim to expedite the appointment process and ensure the selection of impartial and competent judges to reduce the caseload in the courts and deliver justice to citizens,” Minister Giri stated.

Highlighting the ministry’s priorities, he noted that lawmaking has been given top priority.

An integrated statement outlining the priorities of bills to be submitted to the federal parliament has been prepared.

A total of 117 bills have been prioritized: 63 as first priority, 39 as second priority, and 15 as third priority.

Minister Giri informed the House that significant bills, including the Federal Civil Service Bill and the Education Bill, have been registered in the Federal Parliament and need to be passed soon.

The next meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled for June 23.
