ACC Premier Cup: Nepal facing Hong Kong today for third place

KATHMANDU: Nepal is set to compete against Hong Kong for the third position in the ACC Premier Cup on Saturday.

After losing to UAE in the first semifinal and Hong Kong facing defeat against Oman in the second semifinal, both teams are now vying for the third spot on Saturday.

Nepal suffered a defeat by six wickets against UAE in the first semifinal.

Having won all their group stage matches, Nepal had advanced undefeated to the semifinal.

UAE’s bowler Saamad Sheikh emerged as the star performer against Nepal.

In the second semifinal, Hong Kong was defeated by Oman by five wickets.

The match for the third position is scheduled to begin at 4:15 PM NST on Saturday.

The final of the Premier Cup will be contested between hosts Oman and UAE on Sunday.

Nepal aims to secure a place in the Emerging Cup by winning the match for the third position.

The winner, runner-up, and the third-placed team of the Premier Cup will earn the opportunity to compete in the ACC Emerging Cup.
