KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of the Gold Smuggling Control has forwarded the mobile phone of CPN-Maoist Center’s Vice-Chairman and former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara to the Mobile Digital Forensic Lab (DFL) in connection with the gold smuggling case.
Following the identification of Mahara’s connection with a Chinese citizen involved in gold smuggling, the Commission has sent his mobile for scrutiny in the DFL.
According to sources within the Commission, Mahara’s mobile was sent to the police’s DFL for investigation into the gold smuggling case last Friday.
“As this information has become public through the recent investigation, to confirm it and to bring new facts to light, it has been sent to his mobile DFL,” the source said under anonymity.
