GODAWARI: The General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, presented a contemporary political report in the central committee meeting, stating that the alternative to democracy can only be a prosperous democracy.

The NC General Secretary considers his party’s role crucial, as it has to adopt policies to lead the country out of the current challenges while safeguarding the spirit of the Constitution.

“In the present context, NC is committed to addressing all challenges faced by the country through the path of struggle and safeguarding the spirit of the constitution.”

He termed the incumbent coalition as an outcome of the adverse situation generated by forces challenging Constitutional norms and values; however, he also mentioned that the formation of the coalition causes dissatisfaction within the party.

Sharma referred to the lack of understanding in the alliance and the responsibility of Congress to keep the coalition intact for the welfare of the nation and the people, even if it means having a minority status in parliament.

Interpreting the coalition as a compulsive situation developed due to the incumbent structure of the parliament, where no political party has a majority, the NC General Secretary has suggested moving ahead while keeping the incumbent coalition.

“In the current situation, the dissatisfaction and suffering noticed in Nepali society should be the priority of the largest party’s Mahasamiti meeting, and it should be resolved gradually with determination.”

General Secretary Sharma outlines the Congress’s responsibility to increase trust in the country by ending political turmoil, enhancing cooperation with friendly nations, contributing to greater collaboration, and actively participating in physical development, including environmental conservation.

He underscores the party’s responsibility in the education sector for improvement.
