Indian national arrested at TIA with 855 grams of gold



KATHMANDU: A 35-year-old Indian citizen, Sharif Ahmed Abdul Ghafar, was arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with 855 grams of gold.

The gold, discovered in a semi-solid state, was seized by the police at the TIA.

Ghafar had arrived in Kathmandu on a Fly Dubai flight on Monday night.

The arrest took place during a routine check at the arrival tunnel gate, where authorities uncovered the concealed gold.

Subsequently, the police have sent him to the customs office for further investigation.
