KATHMANDU: In coordination with the Nepali and Indian security organizations, both countries are making progress in clearing the Dasgaja border area.
According to Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal’s spokesperson, Rajendra Khadka, nearly 17 kilometers of the Dasgaja border area has been cleared by removing 56 huts in 38 locations in coordination with the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
During the press conference organized by APF, Khadka informed that in the same sequence, construction activities have been halted in 18 locations and farming in around 13.32 hectares of area under the ‘No Man’s Land’ area.
Moreover, information was shared that about 53% of the 1,780-kilometer-long Nepal-India border has been demarcated with pillars. Nepal is assigned to construct odd number pillars and India the even ones.
APF spokesperson shared that the Force has constructed 253 posts for the border security.
