JAJARKOT: In a significant relief effort, a total of 27,091 individuals among the 42,524 earthquake survivors in Jajarkot have received the first installment of grant support earmarked for temporary housing.
The District Administration Office confirmed this development in a recent statement.
Breaking down the distribution, Administrative Officer Harishchandra Sharma revealed that 4,642 out of 6,634 survivors in Bheri Municipality, 7,150 out of 8,907 in Nalgad Municipality, and 2,188 out of 8,205 in Chedagad have successfully received the grant assistance.
In Barekot, a positive trend continues with 4,154 families among 5,586, and among 5,287 families in Kushe rural municipality, 4,687 families have now received the first installment of the temporary housing grant assistance.
Likewise, the first installment has been provided to 1,113 families out of 5,406 in Junichande Rural Municipality, and to 3,147 families out of 3,309 survivors in Shivalaya Rural Municipality.
Despite progress, challenges persist, as 32,365 families are still residing under tents, while 10,159 families have transitioned to temporary structures.
The ongoing distribution of grants aims to expedite the recovery process for those affected by the earthquake, providing crucial support for rebuilding their lives and communities.
