CPN (Maoist Center) general secretary faces corruption allegations by central committee member

KATHMANDU: Dev Gurung, the general secretary of the CPN (Maoist Center), is under scrutiny as allegations of corruption surface, according to claims made by Gorakh Bahadur KC, a central committee member of the party.

In an issued clarification letter, KC, who had previously faced disciplinary action from the party, maintains that Gurung played a role in corrupt practices.

The party had taken action against KC and a member of his secretariat for their inappropriate behavior towards a Chinese national during the distribution of relief materials for the victims of the Jajarkot earthquake.

KC asserts that Gurung used his influence to divert relief materials to his relatives, engaging in corrupt activities.

He is urging both the party and the government to initiate a thorough investigation into the allegations.
