5 parliamentary committees convene today to discuss key agendas



KATHMANDU: Five committees under the Federal Parliament are set to hold meetings today at Singha Durbar to deliberate on various issues.

The Women and Social Affairs Committee will meet at 11 am to discuss CEDAW’s Basic Recommendation No 39, focusing on advancing women’s rights and social welfare.

Simultaneously at 11 a.m., the Federalism Enablement and National Concerns Committee will address an on-site monitoring report, evaluating federalism’s implementation and associated challenges.

At 11:30 am, the Development, Economic Affairs, and Good Governance Committee will review a report submitted by the Resolution Implementation Monitoring Sub-committee. The agenda includes a discussion on Dalit community rights and legal provisions for development.

The State Affairs Committee is scheduled to convene at 1 pm to deliberate on proposed amendments to the bill governing the formation, operation, and service conditions of the Federal Civil Service.

Additionally, at 1 pm, the Legislative Management Committee will discuss the Tilganga Eye University Bill, 2024, engaging with stakeholders to explore its potential implications.
