Detainee found dead in police custody



CHITWAN: A person who was detained in the Area Police Office, Ratnanagar, Tandi has been found dead.

Mohammad Kyamodeen,45, of Ratnanagar Municipality-13, who was arrested on the charge of a criminal offense on October 17, was found dead in the bathroom of the detention cell.

He was found fallen near the door of the bathroom at 4:45 this morning and died during treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, District Police Office Chitwan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bhesraj Rijal said.

The body has been kept at the same Hospital for a post-mortem. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
