Deputy Speaker Rana denies writing to US Embassy seeking visa

KATHMANDU: Deputy Speaker Indira Rana has refuted claims that she wrote a letter to the US Embassy in Kathmandu seeking visas.

In a press statement issued on Friday, Rana clarified that she did not request visas from the US Embassy for any participants of the NGO CSW67 Forum held in March 2023.

She stated that she only asked the Embassy to schedule visa interviews.

Rana faced criticism after her letter to the US Embassy was made public.
